This week is week 4 of our series looking at the parables of Jesus. And it’s a toughie this week and no mistake: the parable of the sheep and the goats. Here once again are some questions you might find helpful in thinking and praying about this:

  1. Read through the parable 2 or 3 times, slowly and carefully. What particularly strikes you, surprises you, unsettles you?
  2. There seems to be a clear theme of judgement in this parable. How do you react to the idea of Jesus as judge?
  3. Where are the places we think we might find Jesus? Does this parable challenge or change our ideas about this?
  4. Are there ways in which we can help ourselves (or allow God to help us) see Jesus in the places we might not normally expect to find Him?
  5. The tone of this parable, especially towards its end, can seem very severe. Is there good news in this parable?

As ever, please share any thoughts or reflections you have in the comments below. And join us on Sunday morning, 10:45am, when we explore this parable together – I’ll see you then!
